Rally of demonstrators to reconvene on September 18.
After the protests of January 6, fencing around the Capitol was kept in place until mid-July. In anticipation of the follow-up rally, demanding “Justice for J6” that protests the 600 criminal charges against participants in the January 6 demonstrations, Capitol police have reinstalled the chain link fencing and key barriers to help prevent violence.
The rally will be held on September 18. Capitol police are on alert and taking extra precautions, but hope that the rally will happen smoothly and peacefully. “The fence will go up a day or two before and if everything goes well it will come down very soon after,” U.S. Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the safety of the Capitol Police as the rally takes place.
- That these necessary precautions will be proved unneeded in a peaceful gathering.
- For January 6 participants to receive due process and justice in their cases and hearings.
